Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026.

Trust is the whole point of Closeeye. This policy explains, in plain language, what the Closeeye app collects, how it is used and protected, who it is shared with, and the control you keep, including deleting everything at any time.

In short

  • We collect only what’s needed to help you care for your family.
  • We never sell your data, and never use it for advertising.
  • Your family’s health information is used only to help your family, never for marketing, and never to train AI models.
  • Data is encrypted in transit and access is limited to your own account.
  • Closeeye does not collect your location.
  • We count how the app is used, anonymously and never linked to you. No advertising, and no session recording.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, at any time, from inside the app.

Who we are

Closeeye is operated by Stexa Products & Services Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in India. It is a family-wellbeing service, not a medical provider and not an emergency service. This policy covers the Closeeye mobile app for Android and iOS. You can reach us at hello@closeeye.app, or by post at Hyderabad, Telangana, India, 500001.

What the app collects

Your own profile:

  • About you, your name, your email address if you sign in with Google, your phone number, your WhatsApp number if you tell us it is the same, and the city and country you enter.

About the people you add:

  • Who they are, their name, your relationship to them, and a phone number if you give one.
  • What you tell us (sensitive), anything you choose to record, notes you ask Closeeye to remember, and medical details if you add them. You decide what to write; nothing is gathered about them without you.

What you send and ask:

  • Letters and photos, the voice letters and photos you send, and the captions you write. These are stored privately and are readable only by your family space.
  • Questions, the questions you type or speak. The question is stored; the answer and the records used to compose it are not stored with it.

Device permissions the app asks for:

  • Microphone, only while you are recording a voice letter, or speaking a question instead of typing it.
  • Camera and photos, only when you choose a photo to send. Closeeye cannot see your library otherwise.
  • Notifications, on a paired device, so a letter that arrives can be announced. You can refuse, and the app works without it.

Closeeye does not collect your location

The app declares no location permission on either Android or iOS, and never asks for one. When you use Getting Somewhere, Closeeye hands the place you typed to your phone’s own maps app and stops there, your maps app does the rest, on its own terms. Closeeye only ever knows the place you typed.

How the app is measured

To know which parts of Closeeye work and which do not, the app counts a short, fixed list of things that happen in it, that it was opened, that a door was chosen, that a sign-in was abandoned, that a question was asked, that a letter was played.

These counts are anonymous. They are not attached to your account, your name, your email address or your phone number, and no profile of you is built from them. The deliberate consequence is that we cannot tell one family using Closeeye many times from many families using it once, we chose that on purpose.

Nothing you write, say, send or ask is ever included. Not a question, not a voice letter, not a photo, not a caption, not a name, not a number, and nothing you asked Closeeye to remember. Only that something happened, never what it was.

Questions that suggest somebody may be in danger, and requests for urgent help, are left out of this counting entirely.

There is no advertising, no session recording, no screen recording, and no tracking of you across other apps or websites.

How your information is used

Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, together with performing the service you asked for and meeting our legal obligations.

  • To remember what matters about your family, and to give you answers grounded in what you have actually shared.
  • To deliver the letters and photos you send to the people you send them to.
  • To answer your questions. Your question is sent to our AI provider to compose a reply. They process it only to answer, and do not keep it or use it to train their models.
  • To reach the people you nominated, if you ask for urgent help.
  • To keep the service working, and to fix it when it breaks.

Who your information is shared with

We never sell your data, and never share it for advertising. Your family’s information is private to your account. It reaches only the providers that make the app work, only for the purposes below, and only under agreements requiring them to protect it:

  • Supabase, the database, sign-in and private file storage the app runs on.
  • Google, verifies who you are when you choose “Continue with Google”.
  • Anthropic, composes the answer to a question you ask. Not retained, and not used for training.
  • OpenAI, writes down a question you speak instead of type. The recording is sent, converted, and kept by nobody.
  • Google Firebase, delivers a notification to a paired device, when notifications are allowed.
  • Twilio, sends the WhatsApp message that reaches the people you nominated if you ask for urgent help.
  • Resend, sends email to our team when a question suggests somebody may be in danger.
  • PostHog, receives the anonymous usage counts described above. It is sent no name, no contact details and nothing you wrote.
  • Sentry, receives a report when the app crashes or hits an error, so we can find it and fix it. It is sent no name, no contact details, no IP address and nothing you or your family wrote, only what describes the fault itself.

Your family’s health information

What you record about someone’s health is the most sensitive thing you trust us with, and it is treated that way. It is used only to help you care for your family, to answer your questions and to be there when you ask for it. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never used to train AI models. You can see, correct or delete it at any time.

How your information is protected

Your information is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS and encrypted at rest. Access is isolated so that only your account can reach your family’s data, and each request can touch only what it genuinely needs. Letters, photos and documents live in private storage reachable only by your family space.

How long it is kept, and deleting it

Your information is kept for as long as your account is open.

You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, yourself, from inside the app, You → Sign out → Close account. When you do, your profile, the people you added, everything you recorded, your letters, photos and questions are permanently deleted, and any active membership is cancelled. Residual copies in encrypted backups are fully overwritten within 90 days.

A few narrow items are kept only where the law requires or for accountability: basic transaction records needed for tax and accounting, and a minimal record that a deletion took place. Anonymous statistics that can no longer be linked to you may also remain. Account and Data Deletion has the detail.

Your choices and rights

You are in control. You can:

  • See and correct what Closeeye holds about your family.
  • Withdraw either permission at any time, in You → Privacy and permissions. Turning one off stops it from then on; it does not undo what has already been done.
  • Delete everything by closing your account.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or raise a concern, at hello@closeeye.app.

Children

Closeeye is intended for adults caring for the people they love. It is not directed to children, and you must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your data is processed

Closeeye is operated from India, and your information is primarily stored and processed on servers operated by our providers. Some providers may process data in other countries under agreements that require appropriate protection. By using Closeeye you understand your information may be processed in those locations to deliver the service.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes we will update the date on this page and tell you in the app. Where a change affects something you consented to, we will ask again.

Questions, requests or complaints

To see, correct or delete your data, or if something concerns you, write to us. We aim to respond promptly, and in any event within the timelines required by applicable law.
